Walking in Christ – Resisting the Chain Reaction of Wickedness

Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers,  but whose delight is in the law of the Lord , and who meditates on his law day and night.
Psalm 1:1-2

I love these verses because it describes the one going process of a Christian mingling in the midst of sinners.

  1. The verse warns against walking in the midst of the wicked.
  2. The verse warns about standing in the path of sinners.
  3. The verse warns about sitting with mockers.

Do you see the progression here?

Walking, standing, and the sitting

As one abides longer in the company of the wicked, sinners, and mockers, their relationship with God would stop from walking with Him, then to standing/not walking, then inevitably resting or becoming comfortable with the wicked.

How do we avoid this chain reaction and grow stronger in our love affair with the Lord?

Delight in the law of the Lord, which is His word, and meditate on it day and night!

This week I encourage you to take one verse in which you find comfort, joy, and/encouragement and memorize it; quoting it as you go about the day!

Today, WALK with Jesus, STAND by His side, and SIT at His feet!
