“What kind of King would choose to wear a crown that bleeds and scars to win my heart?”
“What other heart would let itself be broken every time till He healed mine?”
But God shows His love for us in that while we were sinners, Christ died for us.”
God’s love is far more than any mortal man can grasp or imagine, yet people have asked me,
“If God is so loving why would He send good people to hell?”
“Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good.”
In the beginning God created a perfect world and He entrusted Adam and Eve to care for the earth and gave them but one restriction, “of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you do not eat, for in the day you eat of it you will surely die” (Genesis 2:17).
Given the consequences of disobedience Adam and Eve still chose to disobey God and sin entered the world.
“just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, so death spread to all men because all sinned.” and now all of the world was cursed by man’s sin.
“Truly, this only I have found: That God made man upright, but they have sought out many schemes.”
When we look at the nature of humanity, we can see that,
“As it is written: “There’s no one righteous, not one;” (Romans 3:10).
Since the moment that one enters the world they are born in sin and have climbed aboard the train to hell.
God sent His only Son to be the escape, to save mankind from their destructive road to hell.
“For God so loved and the world that He gave His only Son, that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that through Him the world may be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned, but He who does not believe is condemned already.”
God gave man a free will to choose to obey Him or to deny Him, man chose the latter. So as a punishment for Adam and Eve’s sin, the entire world was cursed.
“For He does not afflict willingly, nor grieve the children of men.”
“Say to them: ‘As I live,’ says the Lord GOD, ‘I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live.”
Pain, sin, and death were brought into the world by one man’s choice to disobey God.
But as in one man’s sin entered the world (Adam), so did one Man’s act of love saved the world from sin (Jesus).
“Well then, as one man’s trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one Man’s act of righteousness leads to acquittal and right standing with God and life for all men.”
So the answer to the question, “Why would a loving God send good people to hell?”…God is not sending anyone to hell, man deserves hell and man chose with their God-given free will to continue in their sin and wickedness, denying Him and His love for them.
*FACT: God did not create Hell for man! *
When Satan rebelled against God and was cast out of heaven with a third of the angels, God created Hell for Satan and His “angels”. Earth was created for man to enjoy, not for the devil to inhabit!
God longs for the whole earth to join Him in paradise, that’s why we as Christians are to go and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19)!
When coming to Christ, you are stating that you no longer want to be in control of your life (Which you really are not). In this, you realize that you are a sinner in need of a Savior and you believe that Jesus is Lord. You come to the place where you believe with your whole heart that He came and paid your penalty, which is death, on the cross by shedding His blood for you, that He rose from the grave, that He is coming back, and that you will be with Him forever.
While you live on this earth, your statement of faith proclaims that:
- You will live for Him
- You will declare His name as Lord of all
- You will share His Word and His Love
- And make disciples of all nations
Lastly, when coming to God, full repentance is turning from your sins and turning to God. No sin is ever too great that if repented for, God will not forgive, and not only forgive but when He was raised from the dead He justified sin, wiping it white as snow!
So God’s forgiveness is not just a band aid that covers the sin and it’s still there and remembered, but it is healed and wiped away as it never happened.
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
